Somehow these managed to survive as well. Really, I don’t think any of you could really understand how overwhelmingly happy I am right now.
Does anyone else remember how the old Pokémon packs had pictures of the Pokémon cards on them? Well, I remember being at least ten years old, just buying a fresh pack of cards, and the pack had Mewtwo on the cover. I kept thinking how exciting it would be if there just so happened to be a Mewtwo inside the pack, but I knew it wasn’t possible. Well, I opened it, and right in the very back was this card. I remember being so happy that I could cry.
A few years later, Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast. I managed to save almost everything of mine, but after the water which flooded our house washed away, I found all of my Pokémon binders on the floor, full of cards, and soaking wet. I thought they were lost forever.
Just today, seven years later, I randomly found a small collection of cards hidden away in my room, seeing many of them for the first time since the day Katrina hit. And this was at the very bottom, my favorite card of my favorite Pokémon. It still survived. This huge piece of nostalgia and happiness from my childhood had survived.
